Director, Learning & Leadership Programs
As a Director, Learning & Leadership Programs, you are passionate about empowering employees and driving professional growth. You will lead learning strategies to accelerate talent development within the organization by creating, procuring, managing and/or facilitating development programs to support current and future organizational needs. You will oversee leadership development, talent management and succession programs.
Position Type: New Position
Salary Range: $92,000 - $142,000
In summary, Director, Learning & Leadership will:
• Develop a five-year strategic learning and leadership plan that incorporates all training to the strategic plans and priorities of the credit union
• Lead full cycle planning and execution of multifaceted learning and development projects
• Drive processes to implement diverse learning solutions (virtual/in person/eLearning/self-guided, etc.)
• Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously
• Recommend, coordinate and/or facilitate training, workshops and experiential exercises
• Champion the evolution of career development paths and plans for employees
• Design, develop and evaluate learning and training delivery strategies
• Oversee the standardization of leader/participant guides, learning activities, reference guides, job-aids, scripts, E-learning modules, pre-work, post-work and train the trainer materials
• Develop appropriate learning assessment strategies and conduct analysis of learning programs
• Oversee the creation and/or enhancement of departmental orientation onboarding plans
• Overall responsibility for new employee orientation and the employee experience
• Manage the corporate LMS and continually improve functionality & employee engagement
• Proactively complete learning needs analysis, identify skill gaps, design programming
• Develop metrics/dashboards to assess the programs and identify opportunities for improvement
• Continuously monitor and integrate training trends, technology and innovation in learning
• Assist with the employee development budget preparation and tracking
• Oversee the employment development team
The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, organizational development or related field
• Certification as an ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD/CPLP)
• A minimum of 10 years progressive experience specifically focused on organizational development.
• Experience with instructional design, adult learning theories, blending learning techniques.
• Expertise in leadership development, succession planning, and coaching.
• Proficiency with learning management systems and data analytics.
• Curiosity in technology to leverage automation and/or enhance learning tools.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching and communication abilities focused on engagement
• Strong business acumen and the ability to influence decision makers.
• Flexibility for occasional travel within Ontario.
These additional skills are considered assets too:
• Certification as an ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD/CPLP)
• Experience working in the credit union system or financial services industry
• Technical experience for content creation
