Job Overview
The Driver/Shop Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the inventory and distribution of tools and equipment within a service or production environment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently track tool usage, maintain inventory, ensure that all tools are readily available for the needs of the trades in the field, aswell as pick-up and delivery of tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proactive approach to sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, understanding of tools and equipment to be used in a construction worksite.
Duties
• Manage the inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and availability.
• Perform regular audits of tool crib inventory to identify shortages or excesses.
• Source new tools and negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable terms.
• Collaborate with our trades in the field to understand & coordinate tool requirements for ongoing projects.
• Assist in order fulfillment by packing and preparing tools, equipment, consumables for offsite work locations.
• Pick-up and deliver materials, tools and equipment as scheduled or required by our trades people in the field.
• Implement & up-keep structure to our shop environment, assist & coordinate our fleet requirements for service vehicles.
Qualifications
• Knowledge of warehouse distribution and procurement processes
• Excellent negotiation and process improvement abilities
• Valid forklift certification preferred
• Experience driving, delivering equipment and materials
This position is essential for maintaining operational efficiency within our organization, ensuring that all trades have the necessary tools, equipment and materials at their disposal. The Driver/Shop coordinator position will contribute significantly to the overall productivity and success of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
