Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Continuous Improvement Intern FTC to join our team at Speciality-Spartan. The intern will assist in analyzing and improving our production processes, focusing on resource usage, production efficiency, and material usage variance. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for process improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Resource Usage vs Production Efficiency Report: Utilize PowerBI (preferred) or Excel to create detailed reports comparing resource usage to production efficiency. Provide insights on data and identify trends to support decision-making.
• Material Usage Variance: Analyze material usage to identify variances and recommend improvements to reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
• Time & Motion Studies: Conduct time and motion studies to evaluate the efficiency of production processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Lean & DMAIC Knowledge: Apply Lean principles and DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
• Proficiency in PowerBI (preferred) or Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights (Will be tested).
• Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology (Will be tested).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a related field i.e., Chemical Engineering.
• Previous experience, coursework or project in continuous improvement, process optimization, or related areas is a plus.
