Mindcubed delivers technology solutions for federal and D.C. government clients, managing complex information systems that support critical operations. We are seeking multiple Mid-Level QA & Software Testers to join our team and provide testing services supporting the implementation of a web-based enterprise case management system for a government client in Washington, D.C.
Role Overview
You will serve as a hands-on QA tester embedded with our client’s IT division, responsible for validating system functionality, data integrity, and user experience throughout the software development lifecycle. This is an on-site position in Washington, D.C. You will independently design and execute test plans, develop and maintain automated test scripts, communicate defects clearly, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, and end users to deliver production-ready systems.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts covering functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, user acceptance (UAT), database, interface, software compatibility, and Section 508 accessibility testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using the Selenium testing framework; participate in automation code reviews and ensure scripts pass review prior to implementation.
• Perform database testing by writing and executing SQL queries to validate data accuracy, transformations, and backend processing.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing including script development, scenario design, test execution, system monitoring, and results analysis and reporting.
• Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) to ensure full test coverage of system requirements.
• Analyze user stories, system requirements, and technical specifications to determine appropriate testing approaches.
• Document and manage defects within the designated defect management tool; prepare defect reports and logs and support defect triage and resolution.
• Participate in Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) to confirm system, environment, and test artifacts are prepared prior to execution.
• Develop test automation documentation including automation design documents and user guides.
• Support disaster recovery testing in coordination with client IT staff.
• Conduct smoke tests and release shakeouts pre- and post-deployment to confirm system stability.
• Create and maintain workflow documentation using tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or BPMN-based modeling tools.
• Load all testing artifacts into the client’s testing results repository.
• Provide knowledge transfer, training, and ongoing support to end users.
• Participate in project team meetings, defect triage meetings, planning sessions, status meetings, and Operational Readiness Reviews.
• Follow the client’s System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and incorporate industry best practices aligned with ISTQB and IEEE software testing standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in each of the following areas:
• Performance testing of web-based applications.
• Application and software defect tracking.
• Black-box and white-box testing.
• Communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborating with cross-functional project teams.
• Developing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Executing manual and automated tests.
• Planning, executing, and documenting testing activities.
• Stress testing and performance testing.
• Programming in JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic, Oracle PL/SQL, and SQL.
• Using the Selenium testing framework.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (required).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting large-scale, complex IT testing environments involving multiple portfolios and projects.
• Experience supporting case management systems, particularly within court, judicial, or appellate environments.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies across Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps.
• Experience with JAVA-based or Oracle APEX web applications.
• Knowledge of ITIL service management frameworks and tools such as ServiceNow.
• Cross-browser testing experience across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer.
• Experience with Section 508/WCAG accessibility testing standards and tools.
• Familiarity with workflow modeling tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or BPMN-based tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience supporting federal or D.C. government clients.
• ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
