Responsibilities
• Supervise in-house, outsourced, and offsite QA groups effectively across multiple project needs.
• Build and track day-to-day schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Own coordination of short to medium term plans and schedules.
• Contribute to scope definition for assigned teams.
• Coordinate all test scheduling across multiple projects to ensure consistent daily progress.
• Provide clear direction and expectations to ensure team members understand priorities, goals, and success criteria.
• Communicate risk clearly and effectively to ensure that all risks, including external dependencies, within their domain are identified and mitigated.
• Track and report progress of deliverable and project status clearly and regularly.
• Escalate domain risks and mitigations when appropriate.
• Manage performance effectively, including conducting evaluations, addressing gaps, and recognizing strong contributions.
• Promote accountability and ownership, empowering individuals to make decisions, and deliver results.
• Coach, develop, and mentor staff, offering regular feedback, growth opportunities, and support for career progression.
• Use testing expertise to vet and help shape test structures to meet long-term and priority goals on multiple projects.
• Provide strategic oversight of the project database, ensuring high‑quality bug documentation, timely information follow‑ups, and clear data‑driven insights that support leadership decision‑making and operational excellence.
• Facilitate upward communication of progress and status of assigned teams to ensure an alignment of organizational priorities, leadership buy-in, and cross-functional partnerships.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, championing process updates, and encouraging innovation.
• Interact directly with Development and Production teams to manage priorities, expectations, and deliverables.
• Analyze and investigate testing needs to find areas where automation and tool creation can improve efficiency and discuss with appropriate parties to achieve goals.
• Resolve conflicts and remove blockers so the team can maintain focus and stay productive.
• Strive for continuous self-improvement and updating testing knowledge and best practices.
• Foster a healthy, inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, agreements, HR guidelines, and operational standards.
• Solicit feedback on testing and reporting to monitor and improve satisfaction with testing to all other groups regularly.
• Identify and track internal and external dependencies and proactively resolve roadblocks.
• Monitor KPIs for both internal and external partner teams.
Qualifications
• Experience leading a QA team, typically 3–5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of performance management, including delivering feedback, coaching, and handling difficult conversations.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workloads across multiple individuals or projects, delegating wisely to avoid burnout.
• Demonstrated success in driving team outcomes, meeting deadlines, and supporting operational goals.
• Familiarity with conflict resolution methods and navigating interpersonal challenges.
• Comfort with data-driven decision-making, using metrics or qualitative insights to guide actions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with other departments or leaders to align objectives.
• Proven background in Test processes and procedures and an understanding of the game development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical skills in reviewing all design-related information and interpreting areas of risk in testing.
• Highly adaptable to changing priorities, resources, schedules, and scope.
• Able to maintain open, clear, direct, and consistent channels of communication with team members and leadership
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and a drive towards self-improvement.
• Capable of building relationships with peers, partners, and leaders that support their team and organizational goals.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with hiring and staffing processes, including interviewing, onboarding, and supporting career development.
• Strong understanding of organizational policies, HR guidelines, and compliance standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Power BI, Copilot, and various tools for scheduling and tracking deliverables.
• BS in Computer Science or previous experience in Test Automation is desired.
Salary Range
QA Supervisor - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $90,000 - $130,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
