Job Overview
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our client’s team. This role involves operating CNC mills and lathes, performing quality inspections, and ensuring efficient workflow.
Shift:
Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Evening Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
Duties
• Safely operate CNC mills or lathes, manually loading and unloading parts.
• Read micrometers and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
• Complete and document required quality checks and inspections.
• Polish and wash parts during machining cycles as needed.
• Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability; report any tool wear to the CNC Set-Up Operator or Supervisor.
• Measure machined parts using precision instruments, comparing them to First Offs.
• Maintain CNC machines and surrounding work areas in a clean and organized state.
• Ensure continuity between shifts through clear documentation of actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
• Follow quality management system policies and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
• Adhere to health and safety rules at all times.
Skills
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machines.
• Proficient with CNC machines and measurement tools (micrometer, vernier caliper).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Strong mental focus and visual concentration throughout shifts.
• Capable of performing routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
