The DNA Group is seeking a Software QA Tester to support the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This role will perform software application testing for DMV’s enterprise application, including requirements review, test case creation, execution, and defect documentation. The QA Tester will work in an Agile environment, support the full SDLC, automate test cases, validate data, and collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders. The tester will ensure requirements coverage, application quality, proper integration, and adherence to DC Government security standards.
Overview Requirements:
• Perform software application testing to ensure functionality, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test cases, documenting defects and ensuring resolution.
• Write automated test scripts based on User Stories using tools such as Selenium or ACCELQ.
• Review requirements, analyze wireframes (Figma/XD), and validate results using SQL and database schema knowledge.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, business analysts, and end users to support the full SDLC.
• Conduct API, cross-browser, and usability testing.
• Maintain test artifacts, documentation, and reporting through JIRA and other testing tools.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and refine acceptance criteria with technical teams.
• Support integration, regression, and functional testing efforts across DMV applications.
• Ensure compliance with DC Government security standards and maintain a proactive, flexible testing approach.
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of software testing / QA experience.
• Proficiency with JIRA, test case management, and defect tracking.
• Experience with Selenium, ACCELQ, and test automation frameworks.
• Strong SDLC and Agile understanding.
• Experience with version control tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Required Experience:
• Extensive experience with Microfocus Test Tools ALM — 6 Years (Required)
• Experience with Jira — 6 Years (Required)
• Extensive experience in Testing Reports — 10 Years (Required)
• Good SQL skills to write SQLs to fetch data from PS tables, for validating table data and testing — 10 Years (Required)
• Communication with project management, clients, and other developers to ensure effective collaboration throughout the testing phase — 10 Years (Required)
• Candidates should be able to participate in the entire development lifecycle from design through deployment — 10 Years (Required)
• Ability to perform requirements review, write test cases, execute test cases, and create defects is essential — 8 Years (Required)
