Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced DZ Driver to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, including box trucks, flatbeds, and other medium-duty trucks, to transport goods efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various types of cargo. The DZ Driver will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of vehicle operation and customer service.
Responsibilities
• Safely operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks, flatbeds, and other medium-duty trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
• Loading and unloading company vehicles daily with materials and products using hand carts, electric pallets, and drum carts.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance needs are addressed
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation for each trip
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during routes
• Assist in moving goods within warehouses or loading docks as required
• Follow route schedules efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
• Valid DZ Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
• Minimum 3 years of DZ Delivery Driving experience (does NOT UberEats, SkipTheDishes, DoorDash, etc.).
• Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs and performing labour-intensive tasks.
• Valid TDG an asset
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required for this role
• Safety shoes required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly/positive personality
• Reliable, punctual, and honest.
